Humanities Commons is made possible by the contributions of its participating organizations. In return for their financial support, HC grants these organizations the ability to host networks dedicated to their communities and invites them to help shape the future of the platform through its governance processes.

MLA Commons provides an online, collaborative workspace for members of the Modern Language Association. The MLA is a leading advocate for the study and teaching of languages and literatures and publisher of humanities research. It also serves as a clearinghouse for professional resources for teachers and scholars.
MSU Commons is the first institution-based node on the Commons network, providing a space for faculty, staff, and students at Michigan State University to build a digital presence and share their work with the world. MSU Commons serves as the institutional repository for the university.
SAH Commons is the scholarly network for members of the Society of Architectural Historians, a membership organization serving a network of local, national, and international institutions and individuals who, by profession or interest, focus on the history of the built environment and its role in shaping contemporary life.
ASEEES Commons is a social network for members of the Association for Slavic, Eastern European, and Euroasian Studies. ASEEES supports teaching, research, and publication relating to the study of the region and has cultivated the field’s intellectual landscape for over fifty years through its chief publication, Slavic Review.
UP Commons provides a space for connection and collaboration among members connected with the Association of University Presses. AUPresses advances the essential role of a global community of publishers whose mission is to ensure academic excellence and cultivate knowledge.
The Founding Societies of the Humanities Commons Network
Humanities Commons launched in December 2016 as a pilot supporting networks for the MLA and ASEEES, as well as the Association for Jewish Studies (AJS) and the College Art Association (CAA). This pilot was made possible by a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
