Karen Mary Davalos received her BA and MA from Stanford University in Anthropology and her PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Yale University. She is author of four books on Chicana/o art, and her work circulates in and contributes to a range of fields including, religious studies, museum studies, American studies, critical race theory and feminist pedagogy and thought. She is co-director of Mexican American Art since 1848, which will produce an aggregating portal that harvests information from collections at libraries, archives and museum to enhance discoverability and interdisciplinary research on Mexican American visual arts.
