About
I am a trained linguist with experience in indexing, transcription, literary translation (Portuguese>English and Spanish>English), historical-comparative textual analysis in multiple writing systems and languages, theological literary studies, and the antiquarian book trade.
I am an alumnus of the University of Barcelona where I read Spanish literature and completed a these on the work of Don Juan Manuel. Though broadly interested in Romance philology and Hispanic literature, I am primarily focused on Castilian didactic texts of the Middle Ages.
My translation work includes pre-Modern Spanish prose and early Modern Spanish fiction, as well as nineteenth-century Portuguese texts, both fiction (Brazilian) and travel nonfiction (Peninsular). Three translation projects are in process currently. Additionally, I intend to release in 2024 a first-ever English translation of one of Spain’s most important storytellers of the 20th century.
