AboutI am a historian of Imperial Russia and the world, interested in the history of knowledge very broadly defined. My first book project, Spies and Scholars: Clandestine Encounters between Russia, China, and the West, deals with the construction of a Russian intelligence network in Qing Dynasty China between 1650 and 1850. Currently, I’m developing a project about the Russian roots of reactionary thought after the French Revolution.
