    The University of Pittsburgh’s University Center for International Studies (UCIS) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Director of Administration. This senior-level staff position is a key leadership position within the department. The Director of Administration is responsible for overseeing and directing the business operations of UCIS, including: budget, human resources, payroll, facilities, information technology, and marketing/communications. S/He will also provide counsel on and create, revise, and implement UCIS policies and procedures ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures.

    The Director of Administration will serve as a strategic partner and advisor to the Vice Provost for Global Affairs/Director of UCIS, Center Directors, Associate Directors, and other senior level staff providing counsel and advice to the Director in the development and implementation of the University’s Vision and Strategy for our global and globalization activities as well as strategic initiatives and other matters of significance for UCIS. S/he will serve as the VP/Director’s change management expert by directing and managing the assessment, determination, and implementation of organizational changes. S/he will serve as an advisor and executive coach for Center Directors, Associate Directors and senior level staff advising on the development and implementation of departmental goals and initiatives. This position will serve as the VP/Director’s project manager for confidential, complex and high profile projects for individual units and UCIS-wide.

    Incumbent is expected to stay current on University policies and procedures paying particular attention to those associated with international business operations. S/he will provide advice and direction on said policies and procedures to the Global Operations Support department within UCIS.
    Qualifications include: six to nine years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role; experience in project, budget, communications, and/or human resources management essential; Masters degree preferred.
