    Position:
    SAIS is seeking to full a full-time position, open rank, tenured or tenure track, with a focus on Russia. Candidates who combine their work on Russia with an interest in international security, international law, conflict management, international development, international relations, diplomatic history, or the foreign policy of the United States are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates able to teach an introductory course in diplomatic history, comparative politics or IR theory would have an advantage. The position is located in Washington, D.C. The goal is to fill the position during the fall 2017 semester, with the appointment starting effectively on July 1, 2018. Preliminary interviews will be held at the 2017 APSA meeting in San Francisco.

    Qualifications:
    A Ph.D. awarded by June 2018 will be a condition for employment. The ideal applicant will have strong academic credentials and a commitment to improve public policy. A record of excellence in teaching would be a distinct advantage.
