    Vacancy for the Professor in European Politics and Policy in the LSE European Institute.

    Professor in European Politics and Policy

    Salaries will be on the appropriate salary scale and will be commensurate with experience, taking into account pay equity within the Department.

    The salary scale starts at £87,919 per annum (pay award pending) and can be found on the LSE website

    The European Institute is a world-leading centre for the study of Europe. It is multidisciplinary and teaches at a post-graduate level. The faculty are active researchers, and teaching is research-led. The European Institute came top in its Unit of Assessment in the last two REF exercises.

    The successful candidate will provide intellectual leadership in the European Institute, and will be expected to engage with colleagues in cognate areas. The successful candidate will also provide research leadership in the area of European politics and policy, and will make a major contribution to the MSc European and International Public Policy, including its strategic development. The post holder will conduct and publish outstanding research, and engage in high quality teaching.

    Candidates should have a PhD in political science or a cognate area. In addition, they should have an outstanding international reputation in political science and public policy, with expertise and research interests in this area with reference to Europe. This includes research that focuses on the national and/or the European Union levels and/or Europe in a wider international setting. Candidates should also have a proven track record of publishing outstanding research on a continuous basis in top journals and/or with leading book publishers in political science; and a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that will result in further world-leading publications.
