    Museum of Russian Icons (MoRI) seeks a full-time, scholarly Curator. This is an opportunity to curate of one of the world’s largest collections of Russian icons at a well-established, active museum situated in the Greater Boston/Worcester area an hour west of Boston. Required: advanced degree in Byzantine, Medieval or Classical World studies; Russian icon expertise; reading knowledge of Russian and Church Slavonic; museum exhibition and collections experience; and experience writing and editing scholarly publications. Applicants should be relationship-builders, team collaborators, and well-versed in the subject of icons; capable of deepening understanding of MoRI’s collection and enhancing the Museum’s standing through exhibitions, its scholarly Journal of Icon Studies, and professional connections. The Curator will analyze the collection and lead its future development; conduct and promote scholarship disseminated through the Journal; plan and oversee exhibition production; and work effectively with dedicated team of museum professionals and volunteers. Founded by industrialist, philanthropist and icon collector Gordon Lankton, AAM-accredited MoRI holds over 1,000 pieces and is the best collection of Russian icons in the US. MoRI features state-of-the-art facilities and a lively annual array of temporary exhibitions, programs, and events. Rooted in the local community, it is regarded as one of the premier centers of research and scholarship in the field of Russian icons. The region offers access to arts, culture, and academia.
