    Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian, Middlebury College, MIDDLEBURY, VT — The Department of Russian invites applications for a two-year term position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Russian, to begin in Fall 2020.  Research specialization is open, but candidates with a focus on 19th-century literature are particularly welcome. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to teach Russian language, literature, and culture, have experience and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level, possess native or near-native fluency in Russian and English, and show significant potential for scholarly achievement. The position entails teaching Russian language at all levels and courses on Russian culture and literature in translation.  PhD or equivalent in hand by appointment start date is preferred, but qualified ABD candidates will also be considered. Middlebury College uses Interfolio to collect all applications electronically; email and paper applications will not be accepted.  In your application, please include the following: a cover letter, current c.v., a statement of teaching philosophy, three current letters of recommendation (at least two of which must speak to teaching ability), and a statement on inclusion (details below). At Middlebury, we strive to make our campus a respectful, engaged community that embraces difference, with all the complexity and individuality that each person brings.
