The Critical Languages Institute at the Melikian Center on the Tempe Campus at Arizona State University invites applications for the position of Faculty Associate. The successful candidate will be expected to teach intensive Ukrainian in summer 2018. This is a part-time appointment. The successful candidates will teach Elementary Ukrainian 4 hours a day, five days a week, for seven weeks and will contribute to cultural programming.

Minimum qualifications: A Master’s degree or higher in philology, linguistics, language teaching or a closely related field by the time of appointment; possess native proficiency in Ukrainian; and have at least one year’s experience teaching Ukrainian at the university level to non-native speakers.

Strong preference will go to candidates who have successfully taught in intensive language programs, to candidates with experience teaching independently, and to candidates with high levels of proficiency in English.

To apply, please submit to a letter explaining the applicant’s interest in and qualifications for teaching summer Ukrainian at Arizona State University; a CV; and contact information for two references, one of whom should be able to comment on the applicant’s teaching. Candidates unfamiliar with U.S. standards for CV and references should contact CLI in advance for guidance. Application deadline is November 27, 2017; if not filled application review will continue weekly until search is closed. A background check is required for employment.
