    Assistant Professor of Russian: tenure-track.

The Department of Russian at Dartmouth College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Russian beginning in Fall 2019. We are seeking a teacher-scholar with an innovative research agenda and dedication to the undergraduate teaching of Russian language, literature, and culture.

Applicants must have a Ph. D., a native or near-native command of Russian and English, and an ability to teach language at all levels. In addition to specialized courses, the successful candidate will also teach a broad range of courses in Russian literature and culture and have the opportunity to lead our summer language program in St. Petersburg. While the area of specialization is open, candidates with expertise in post-Soviet and contemporary Russian culture, media, cross-cultural studies, or the non-Russian regions of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe are particularly welcome.

Students at Dartmouth are diverse by many measures, and the College seeks to foster an atmosphere of openness and inclusivity. We particularly seek applicants with an interest in teaching and mentoring students from all backgrounds. The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative in student outreach and the diversification of our curriculum.

Please submit a letter of application, current curriculum vitae, sample research (a chapter or article), and three letters of reference through Interfolio, where a complete description of the position can be found at https://apply.interfolio.com/53329. The deadline for receipt of all materials is October 15, 2018. Application review will begin November 1, 2018 and continue until the position is filled. Preliminary interviews will take place at the ASEEES convention in Boston, December 7-9 or by Skype for those unable to attend. Inquiries may be directed to Professor Mikhail Gronas, Department of Russian, 201 Reed Hall, Dartmouth College, Hanover NH, 03755-3570 email: Russian.department@dartmouth.edu.
