    Limited Term Appointment: Instructor, Russian Studies

    The Dalhousie University Department of Russian Studies seeks applications for a one year 100% full-time limited term appointment (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020) at the Instructor level in Russian language, literature and culture. The position is subject to budgetary approval. The Instructor will teach language courses at the first and second year levels, literature, as well as two upper level Russian culture courses. The workload is equivalent to four full-credit (eight half-credit) classes during the one-year period.

    Applicants preferably should have a Ph.D. in Russian or comparative linguistics/language pedagogy/literature and culture. Native or native-equivalent command of Russian and English, as well as experience in teaching the Russian language at the undergraduate level, are required. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational and administrative skills. Candidates should provide up-to-date curriculum vitae, statement of teaching interests and philosophy, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and the Self-Identification Questionnaire, which is available at http://www.dal.ca/becounted/selfid.
