The Lyon G. Tyler Department of History at the College of William and Mary invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professorship position that will begin August 10, 2017. We seek an individual with expertise in the field of continental European history between 1450 and 1750. The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a 3-3 teaching load, including broad surveys of pre-/early modern European history, freshman seminars, and upper-level courses. Applicants are expected to hold a Ph.D. by the time the appointment begins.
Applicants must apply online at Submit a curriculum vitae, a cover letter including statement of research and teaching interests. You will be prompted to submit online the names and email addresses of three references who will be contacted by the system with instructions on how to submit a letter of reference.
For full consideration, submit application materials by the review date, April 7, 2017.
