Professor Simon Dedeo (Social and Decision Sciences, Carnegie Mellon University) and I are looking for a student or recent alum to help us work on a project analyzing two corpuses of Russian and Soviet diaries and letters. This position is ideal for undergraduate or pre-doctoral students with an academic career in mind and looking to enter the culture analytics space. The goal of this work is a peer-reviewed paper, and we hope to involve the student at a high intellectual level.
This is a full-time, paid position in Pittsburgh with flexible start dates in the summer period. Russian-language skills are required, as is familiarity with Python or the willingness to learn quickly. We have an active and friendly research group with (in addition to graduate researchers) three pre-doctoral fellows and an undergraduate researcher working on different projects; it’s a supportive environment for both intellectual development and social life.
We would be grateful if you could circulate this to interested students. Women and under-represented minorities are encouraged to apply. Please contact us (firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com) if the position is of interest.
