The Chair of the History of Eastern Europe at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) offers an opportunity to host international doctoral candidates and postdocs as a part of the funding opportunities offered by the RUB Research School.
For early stage doctoral candidates
RUB offers an opportunity to start a PhD-project at the Chair of the History of Eastern Europe as a part of the funding line Ph.D.-Starthilfe.
The individual funding periods may last between 3 to 6 months with a monthly grant of 800€. Travel expenses and visa fees will be reimbursed upon request.
Requirements:
• a PhD-project in the History of Russia and Russian periphery in the 19th and 20th century that will be conducted at their chair
• the candidate is expected to participate at the events of their chair and of the Osteuropa-Kolleg NRW as well
• an excellent master degree in History of the Eastern Europe.

For early stage postdocs
International doctoral researchers and postdocs, who (will) have finished their PhD not more than 1 year ago, are invited to apply for a spot in the Research Explorer 2018 at Ruhr-Universität Bochum. The research should be centered on the History of Russia and Russian periphery in the 19th and 20th century that will be conducted at their chair.
RUB is offering to host one guest at their chair for the last 2 weeks in June 2018. During this time, you can work out cooperation opportunities, research compatibility and possibilities to come back as a postdoc with your own funding. Research School, RUB’s graduate school, is funding your stay (travel, visa, accommodation).
