Professional Development Grants for Part-Time Faculty Members
The Modern Language Association is offering $1,000 professional development grants for part-time faculty members to help pay for expenses associated with their professional development. The grants may be used for technology purchases, continuing education, research or conference travel, and other expenses related to career development.

    To be eligible, applicants must

    • be current MLA members,
    • earn the majority (fifty percent or more) of their income from teaching part-time at a college or university,
    • not be eligible for benefits from any employer, and
    • not be in the first five years of their graduate studies.

Grants are awarded twice yearly, in early October and early March. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and winners are selected by lottery.
