    Humanities Initiatives

Application Closing Date: July 19, 2018
These awards help strengthen the teaching and study of the humanities in subjects such as history, philosophy, literature, religion, interpretation of the arts, and composition and writing skills. Activities supported by Humanities Initiatives include developing or substantially enhancing bridge programs, creating or revising courses, and infusing humanities learning into professional training.
    These grants serve:
    · Humanities Initiatives at Hispanic-Serving Institutions
    · Humanities Initiatives at Historically Black Colleges and Universities
    · Humanities Initiatives at Tribal Colleges and Universities
Projects need not be related to the cultural identity of the applicant institution. Applicants are encouraged to draw on the knowledge of outside scholars who would contribute expertise and fresh insights to the project.
