The IIE-SRF Vartan Gregorian Research Grants were launched in honor and memory of Dr. Vartan Gregorian’s lifelong work to promote global peace, expand access to international education, and preserve the lives and work of threatened scholars, as well as his service on the IIE Board of Trustees. Around 4 IIE-SRF partners will be selected to receive grants of up to $25,000 that will help fund original research or other projects that deepen our knowledge of the threats faced by academics in diverse contexts across the globe and/or that explore innovative ideas for supporting these scholars. IIE-SRF welcomes proposals that broadly explore the displacement of academics or attacks on higher education and scholarly inquiry worldwide, including the factors that lead to such attacks or their effects. Relevant issues include those in the context of targeted threats against academia and academics or protracted conflict and higher education emergencies.

Who Can Apply?
The IIE-SRF Vartan Gregorian Research Grants are intended for scholars who are dedicated to human rights, academic freedom, and the work of IIE-SRF. Eligible applicants are individuals who:

1. Are active IIE-SRF Alliance<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fiie.us4.list-manage.com%2Ftrack%2Fclick%3Fu%3D1c2990d53535fcb3c05526d43%26id%3Dc33a035df4%26e%3D9b1e41ee8a&data=04%7C01%7Cnewsnet%40pitt.edu%7Cca58b6542ba84685f36c08d9ea77c03a%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637798622334303273%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=7KP4dCCsKqRqiwdnj1fzhEyV3AytOKBobAYtjCGqlKE%3D&reserved=0&gt; partners; or
2. Have been involved with hosting an IIE-SRF fellow at their institution; or
3. Have otherwise worked with or supported IIE-SRF or IIE-SRF scholars.

We welcome applications from individuals who are IIE-SRF partners in any country. Students and IIE-SRF fellows and alumni are not eligible to apply
