    Abstract:
Research methods in art and design disciplines present unique challenges for library instruction. These challenges are further complicated when art and design students are tasked with conducting business and marketing research without any formal introduction to the resources and methodologies of those disciplines. This presentation will describe the planning and execution of a scaffolded three-part instruction session that introduced students to research design, data analysis, and synthesizing new information through interactive and collaborative classroom exercises. The session will conclude with an evaluation of the sessions’ outcomes and a critical reflection.
