- Abstract:
- As we engage in individual and collective research, discovery, and creation, we have multiple opportunities to reflect on the values and assumptions embedded in this work and to build a set of abilities and habits that enable us to make and practice more of what we want in the world. This presentation focuses on "speculative documentary," Sara Smith's art practice, and related library projects, including a fellowship program for students making artworks from archival research. The presentation was given as part of "Creative Practice as Scholarly Practice: Artistic Alternatives to 'Publish or Perish' Models in LIS," a panel at the 2022 ARLIS/NA Conference.
