    Abstract:
The objective of this article is to make an attempt at describing and mapping out one of the major grammatical processes, the process of relativization, and to identify aspects of the referential structure where confusion of interpretation may occur.
    Notes:
The work in this article concerns the referential structure of text. The analysis is closely related to the work of the great Czech linguist Bohumil Palek. The article is an updated version of that published in Linguistica Generalia, Volume 4 pp. 23-61, Acta Universitatis Carolinae Philologica. Prague: Charles University, 1985.
