- Abstract:
- Seminar paper for World Shakespeare Congress, New Approaches to Book History, adapted from/cut from forthcoming essay, "Conversations Across Time and Space: Early Modern Printed Books and Contemporary Artists' Books." Juxtaposes early modern how-to or portable reference books -- ready-reckoners or almanacs, herbals and herbaria, astronomical textbooks -- with aesthetic adaptations of such books from the Hargrett Library's collection of fine press and unique late twentieth- and twenty-first-century artists' books.
