- Abstract:
- These materials are for a one-week long study of musica ficta suitable for advanced undergraduates or graduate students. I taught this class online in Spring 2020, with one asynchronous class day and one synchronous meeting; these materials can be easily adjusted to two 75-minute in-person sessions or one two- or three-hour seminar. If we had been meeting in person, we would have done much more singing—encourage your students to sing the Palestrina and Willaert examples, and especially to read the Willaert from the facsimile!
