- Abstract:
- Curatorial note from Digital Pedagogy in the Humanities: In this semester-long project, Vanessa Joyner calls on students to document all stages in the design process (research, concept, design, and application) of their course projects. She argues that such notebooks can be useful for students in demonstrating their practices to potential employers and for reflecting on and improving their processes for thinking, researching, conceptualizing, and refining their design solutions. Significantly, Joyner calls students’ attention to the value of critical reflection on completed design in the application stage. Specifically, she asks them to consider the relevance and effectiveness of their final designs for their intended audiences and purposes and what they can apply from this experience to future projects.
