- Abstract:
- Teaching ICT-related classes, this chart helps to clarify at what levels students could aim to analyze and explain an Internet site or technology: 1) The User Level: what can the site or technology be used for? 2) The Knowledge Level: what key technical terms need to be presented? 3) The Developer Level: how does the site or technology work? 4) The Academic Level: what frameworks or concepts can organize the analysis into a study of ICT or technology for a paper or presentation?
- Notes:
- The author teaches ICT-related classes of mixed Japanese and foreign exchange students at Kansai University in Osaka. This chart has helped make it clearer to students doing assignments, such as show-and-tell presentations of Websites based in their countries, how to go beyond saying what they use a site for to how it works, its business model, and the academic study of technology. The chart was developed for an e-learning workshop in Thailand.
