    Abstract:
    Der Markt für wissenschaftliche Informationen hat in den letzten Jahrzehnten einen enormen Konzentrationsprozess durchlaufen, und zwar nicht nur was Publikationen, sondern Produkte des gesamten akademischen Workflows betrifft. Dies könnte am Ende zu einem „end-to-end lock-in" führen. Sowohl um dieser Entwicklung etwas entgegenzusetzen als auch aufgrund der – insbesondere im Bereich der Geistes-, Sozial- und Kulturwissenschaften stark verbreiteten – Skepsis hinsichtlich bestimmter Finanzierungsmodelle (z.B. author pays-Modell), ist es im Zusammenhang mit der Vision einer offenen wissenschaftlichen Kommunikation notwendig, alternative, nicht-kommerzielle und von der Wissenschaft kontrollierte Open Science-Infrastrukturen und -Services (OSIS) langfristig zu fördern. The scholarly information market has undergone a tremendous concentration process in the recent decades, not just in terms of publications, but also concerning products throughout the whole academic research life cycle. In the end, this could lead to an end-to-end lock-in. In order to oppose this development and because of the skepticism regarding certain Open Access funding models (e.g. the author pays-model), in the context of the vision of an open scholarly communication, it is necessary to promote alternative, non-commercial and scholarly controlled Open Science infrastructures and services (OSIS) in the long term.
