- Abstract:
- The article discusses Ukrainian plays of the immediate post-Chornobyl period, what they disclose about the society, and by what means they are expressed: carnivalization, parody, and apocalpytic scenes. Together they expose the grim post-Chornobyl situation, serve as an escapism, or an ironic rendition of that reality, and also provide hints as to what needs to be changed for the sake of a better future.
